Best Student Nights Out Newcastle

Best Student Nights Out Newcastle
best student nights out newcastle

Whether you’ve just secured a place at university or recently moved to the city as a young professional (don’t leave your student days behind just yet!) it’s time for your orientation to the toon.

In a city passionate about its rich clubbing heritage the only way to hit the ground running is to adorn your glad rags and hit the twilight zone of Newcastle.

There’s no better way to pop your Geordie cherry and ease the often daunting adjustment to a new city by gathering the troops and solidifying new friendships over a tipple or two, three, four……!

The city may lead you to draw associations with the outlandish Geordie Shore party personas but it will not fail to disappoint as your perfect party host, offering no limit of bars, clubs, and pubs to suit your needs. From stags to students – if you’re in it till the AM, Newcastle will be sure to represent as the (not so) Angel of the North.

Here are our top picks…

Mimos

8 Pudding Chare, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1UE

Start with a bang and pre hard! Wherever you might find yourself by the end of the night, it has to begin with the infamous trebles bar Mimo’s- don your Hawaiian shirt and ‘crack on’ with a giant watermelon fish-bowl.

Soho Rooms

25-27 Mosley St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1YF

Alternatively, stock up for the night ahead and warm up your dance moves at Soho Rooms. Well known for cheap drink deals and centrally located for your roll onto the next clubbing haunt its a must for your first stop of the night.

House of Smith

26 Collingwood St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1JF

What could be seen as the toon triumvirate, these clubs are all worthy of a visit due to their location on Collingwood Street or ‘The Diamond Strip’. This may be seen as a street airing on the side of expensive, but what it’s lacking in a bargain it makes up for in trend. These spots are great for dipping in and out if you fancy a spot of club hopping, ensuring every night of the week you aren’t stuck for an option.

To break it down, if you aren’t one for taking notice of a school night House of Smith will be sure to see the end of your Blue Monday’s with Club Trop. And if you fancy carrying it through until the Tuesday night you can hit the glam sights of Waikiki. (put facebook event links in?)

Floritas Bar

28-32 Collingwood St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1JF

Looking for the VIP experience? Enter the tropical paradise of Florita’s Miami Bar and Tropical Garden- with its elaborate decor adorned with palm trees, Miami Vice really does meet the streets of the North East! Book one of their plush velvet booth’s complete with bottle service and Tiki cocktails for a bougie experience you don’t want to miss out on!q

Madame Koo

36 Collingwood St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1JF

If you fancy a key change, hit the oriental underground of Madame Koo- guaranteed to offer a unique experience with its mysterious set up of tunnels and hidden cave dancefloors.

Flares

33 Mosley St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1YF

Fancy a throwback? Guilty pleasure or not, if you’re one for a golden oldie Flares old school bangers won’t disappoint. It’s the student institution of the North- enough said.

Tup Tup Palace

7 St Nicholas’ St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1RE

Palace by name, palace by nature- Tup promises to provide ‘an unparalleled VIP experience’ and even offers up a spot for a post roast dinner rumble with its popular Sunday night event ‘Persistence’. The club offers a welcomed mix of tunes likely to feature RnB, hip-hop and even old-school garage.

Digital

Times Square, Scotswood Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4EP

Last but certainly not least comes Digital, famously hailed ‘the Fabric of the North’. It’s a clubbing powerhouse with four floors of dancefloor to see you entertained till the early hours. If you’re into your DJs, Digital has seen house giants including the likes of Carl Cox, Skream, Seth Troxler and David Guetta grace its stages so you won’t be short of an opportunity to enjoy a fist pump. Digi Mondays are the big one with £1 drinks- beware of the foggy head the next morning.

With properties across Sandyford, Jesmond and Heaton, Prem Lets and Newcastle Student Housing are sure to find you a perfect den just a stone’s throw away from the club scene.
