Reasons to love summer in Newcastle

Reasons to love summer in Newcastle
Summer in Newcastle

Forget about going abroad, why not spend summer in Newcastle? It has everything you need, from a beach to spending the day at the movies! And not forgetting a nightlife like no other! So, who needs to spend money on a holiday when you have everything right here in the North East.

Lets go to the beach

summer in Newcastle

In the summer, Newcastle magically gains another beach (well technically!). Newcastle brings out the Spanish side of the Toon, by creating a man-made beach directly on the Quayside. It’s beautifully golden sands attract everyone to the Quayside, with activities to do for all ages! There are 100 deckchairs for the relaxers, volleyball for the athletes, and buckets and spades for the children. There is something to do for everyone! A great, free day out, directly in the heart of Newcastle!

If you are looking for a more life-size beach, then don’t worry, the coast has many to offer. Our personal favourite is Tynemouth. A great day out, especially when the sun is shining! It offers a great seaside town, with many things to do for all! A nice walk up to the lighthouse is a must, taking in all the views. For a more educational trip, why not take a visit to the English Heritage of Tynemouth Priory and Castle. While you are there, you can take in the great views of Tynemouth and the whole coast.

Spend the day at the movies

Why not spend a day at the movies! And even better, why not spend a FREE day at the movies? NE1 presents monument movies, a free event which allows people to view new and classic movies free of charge at Grey’s Monument. With the area packed out full of deckchairs, it’s a great way to spend a few hours, especially if it is free!

Have a drink or two!

When the sun is out, there is only one place to head to if you are looking for something to drink, this is Osborne Road in Jesmond. Osborne Road is the perfect place to have a drink, with the bear gardens out at the front, there are plenty of spaces to top up your tan with a pint in your hand.

Relax in the many parks

Jesmond dene

Why not head down to one of Newcastle’s parks, Newcastle has plenty to choose from, with our personal favourite being Jesmond Dene. Whether you want to enjoy the beautiful views of the waterfall, or visit the petting farm, there is plenty to choose from.

If you like Osborne Road and Jesmond Dene, why don’t you choose to live in the beautiful area of Jesmond, with plenty to do there. Take a look at our properties here to find out more.
