10 things all students should do whilst in Newcastle
Quayside markets
Newcastle Student housing have created a bucket list that every student needs to complete whilst
they are in this great city.

#1 Tasting Newcastle Brown Ale

So, the first thing you need to do as a student in Newcastle is try Newcastle Brown Ale, as students
are renowned for their drinking consumption, what better way than to drink the local drink from the
city. It’s a taste like no other drink, so you’ll have to try it at least once while you are here.

#2 Grainger market

Every student loves to save money, and away from the crowd of Northumberland Street is Grainger
market, packed full of local businesses, you will certainly find a bargain. From clothes to food, you
will be sure to find what you need.

#3 Quayside markets

Sundays are boring for students, therefore, why not head down to the Quayside markets. If you
want a unique gift for someone, or something cool for your university room, you’ll find something
you can hang up on your wall. If not, then there is always the food. Local restaurants come down to
serve their food in a pop up style environment, making it the place to be on a Sunday morning.

performers while you are there too, they won’t disappoint.

#5 A trip to the coast

Whatever the temperature is outside, there is nothing quite like the North Sea air. North Shields,
Tynemouth and South Shields are all on the metro route, so its quick and easy for students to get
there. Why not have fish and chips at the beach, and with 8 miles of coast, there is plenty of places
to choose from.
